Musical activities:
- Turn on
- Begin using small movements, tapping different body parts on each verse while singing nonsense syllables. Alternate movement between the macrobeat and microbeat.
- Distribute balls about halfway through the music.
- Tap different body parts and surfaces such as head, knees, tummy or floor with the balls using microbeat and macrobeat. The younger children will either hold onto the ball or roll as they like until the end of the song.
- Collect balls.
Note: Be prepared−once balls are distributed the excitement of the littlest children may take over and this activity will become unstructured. Children may get up and follow their ball. Sing and keep it structured as long as you can. Another prop can be substituted that cannot roll, like a teddy bear, or this song can be used as instrument play with assorted instrument.
