S&S: Instrument Play–1,4, Beat/Rhythm2, Creating Music–4, 5


Musical activities: 

  1. Distribute instruments. Turn on .
  2. The children will play freely to the music displaying improvisation and movement to the beat and rhythms. Model and observe spacing and consistent beat. 
  3. Observe the children when the music stops to see whether they continue to play or stop.
  4. Collect instruments. Allow the children to continue playing for a few moments after the song ends. Observe their behavior. Are they simply playing with the instruments or has the musicality continued, demonstrating that they are able to keep the music going internally?
