S&S: Vocal–5, Beat/Rhythm–2, Creative Movement–1

Musical activities:

1. Sing the song inserting each child’s name where indicated. Suggested accompaniment: piano, guitar, tambourine or clapping hands.
2. Move around the circle making eye contact with each child when their name is sung. Use a “hello” hand movement when singing the children’s names. Return to clapping hands or your instrument when all the children’s names have been sung.
3. Invite the children to sing, clap, bounce or tap along to the beat encouraging an active response to music.
4. Extra repetitions? Reinforce body awareness by singing, “Hello to my nose, hello to my hands, hello to my toes, too.”
